What is Universal Design?
Universal design and aging in place is something many families live with in their lifetime. A common misconception with universal design is that it is only for “old people.” The goal of universal design is so anyone living in the home, from toddlers to aging parents, can have all their needs addressed to the greatest extent possible regardless of their age, size, ability or disability. Mark and Diane earned the Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS I, II) designation from the National Association of Home Builders in 2013. To further their knowledge and expertise in this area they attended training in 2020 and received the CAPS III designation.
